More and more, people are talking about indoor air quality. Problems are regularly reported in the news, and even government agencies have noted that indoor air can be much worse than outdoor air. Indoor air quality is a pervasive concern because so many of us live and work indoors, and spend much of the year breathing recycled indoor air. The pheonomenon of recycled indoor air has gotten more pronounced, especially since around 1980 as building techniques have made buildings more airtight. Until recently, there have been limited alternatives for treating indoor air. You could try upgrading the filters in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, or you could try using portable room air purifiers. Filters alone cannot deal with all indoor air odor and contaminant problems, and room air purifiers offer only a limited treatment area and potential health hazards due to excess ozone concentrations in the living/working space. ClearWater Tech’s AirWaves products mimic how nature treats outdoor air, using ultraviolet energy or ultraviolet energy combined with low levels of ozone. Air treatment occurs in the central HVAC ductwork. As the building’s air recycles through the HVAC system, it is repeatedly treated by AirWaves. Users notice the difference in their indoor air quality soon after installation. The AirWaves product is available through ClearWater Tecnologia Ambiental S.L. |
